If March comes in like a lion......

If we did a short quiz about the Month of March, how many facts would you get right? Lets find out...

1. What astronaut returned to Earth after a full year on the International Space Station setting a new record for the longest time in space for one single trip?

2. What day in March is Pi Day?

3. True or False – Twitter was launched in March.

4. True or False – Monopoly was first played in March 1933.

5. What day is daylight saving time?

Answer:

1. NASA astronaut Scott Kelly returned to Earth on March 2, 2016, after competing a year in space. He still holds the record for the longest uninterrupted trip to space.

2. March 14 is Pi Day. Celebrate Pi Day with a bad joke and a piece of your favorite pie. Want a joke to lead with “Don’t let advanced math intimidate you! It’s easy as Pi!” or “What was Sir Isaac Newton’s favorite dessert? Apple Pi.” Enough groaning – enjoy a slice of pie in the most ideal way to serve it – A la mode!

3. True – Twitter was launched on March21, 2006.

4. True – Monopoly was invented on March 7, 1933, and we are still playing it today.

5. Daylight saving time begins on March 9, 2025. Let this be your reminder to change your clocks and check your batteries in your smoke detectors.

One last fact for this month. The phrase if March comes in like a lion it goes out like a lamb may have originated from the belief that if March starts badly, it should end well. However, this saying doesn’t always hold true, but March is typically when we see the transition between winter and spring. The first day of spring falls on March 20th this year.
